Who we are

Our Culture Our Crown ("we", "us", "our") is a Community Interest Company building mentorship, training, cultural exchange and platforms for young people and emerging creatives across the UK, with a particular focus on West Yorkshire. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what rights you have over it.

What we collect

When you apply to a programme, we collect:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Your age and location, where given
• What you tell us about why you’re applying and your relevant experience
• A portfolio or social media link, if you provide one
• A CV or other attachment, if you choose to upload one

When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email, phone number (if given), and your message.

How we use it

We use this information to:

• Review and respond to programme applications
• Contact you about the outcome of your application
• Deliver the programme or activity you’ve applied for
• Respond to general enquiries

Our legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in running our programmes and responding to people who contact us, and, where an application proceeds, taking steps to deliver the activity you’ve asked to take part in.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share relevant details from your application with a partner organisation — such as a school, college, university, or arts/community organisation we work with — where this is necessary to deliver the specific programme or project you’ve applied for. We only share what’s needed for that purpose.

We also use third-party service providers to help us run this website and communicate with you — for example, an email delivery service to send application updates and respond to enquiries. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep application and enquiry information for up to 12 months from the date you submit it, after which it is deleted. If you take part in an ongoing programme, we may keep relevant information for the duration of your participation, plus up to 12 months afterwards.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• Ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
• Ask us to correct information that’s inaccurate or incomplete
• Ask us to delete your information
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information

This website does not currently use analytics, tracking or marketing cookies. If that changes in future, this policy will be updated accordingly.
